You’re part of GPT member and trying to get people joins under you, sounds easy, but you realized there are many other people in the same way trying to get referrals also. So now do you get an edge above the rest? If you know nothing then just follow my step-by-step action plans and you’re sure to have some more referrals.
I’ll start the easiest actions and go on advanced ones. If you have any question, just post a comment to this blog and share your opinion to help each other.
- Learn about the Program
The first thing you need to do is to understand the program when plan to promote and recruit a referral, read the FAQ, T.O.S, visit the Forum (if it has), also to understand its commission structure. I often get questions from friends who are thinking of signup up, so it really helps if you know your program. - Email Friends and Family
They are probably among the first referrals that you will get. Either sends an email with a referral link to the site you are promoting or send a link to the web page you’ve created. Just don’t spam anyone, make sure the people you email would actually want to receive email from you. - Email Signature to your Outgoing Email
You probably send tons of email messages every day – Take its advantage. With most email programs (Google, Yahoo) you can set up a signature link. Once you set it up, it’s a very hand off form of advertising. It can really compound over timer (just think about how many emails you send a day.) It also gives you a good reason to forward those funny emails your annoying friends keep sending you. Take advantage of online forums and discussion board. The great benefit is that you can target a certain groups that are a targeted group of people fits the same goal – make money online. Another great advantage is that you know what you are getting into and you will be prepared. Participate and help with honest opinion, Show them what you are made of and wow them with your range of expertise about the subject, and stay active, you can build personal reputation, trust and loyal followers. Among all my favorite GPT Programs I endorse MatrixMails. Once again, set your Signature as similar to Email Signature mentioned above. - Yahoo Answers
Register with yahoo for free and look for questions related to home business, make money online etc. Write a good answer to one of the questions and add a link to your site in the source box. If your answer is useful and informative you may find people visit your site to learn more. Be careful no to spam. - Use Free Web Traffic Exchanges
The concept is Simple “If you visit my website, I’ll visit yours” – a good and simple way to start advertising, BUT only if they are used in the correct way. If you don’t know have to read What is Web Traffic Exchange and How It Works here. I am promoting Marketing Pond (see example I created in EasyHits4U). I have built a downline in Marketing Pond and many of them have joined the traffic exchanges listed (giving me extra credits) and also joined the other 33 programs too. I have built huge downlines in the traffic exchanges over the last year so I currently only surf once or twice a week to stay active. The rest of my credits are earned by my downline for me. Give this time and you will see you Marketing Pond downline growing. You’ll find many of the web traffic exchanges already here. - Use Free Banner Exchange
The concept is same to Traffic Exchange, instead of explore website, as its name it show the text and banner advertising. In my opinion click through ratios are very low and response even lower unless it is a relatively new banner exchange program. But it is still an easy way to gain traffic. An good example is “Traffic Splash”. - Write An Article
This is one of the most powerful promotion methods that I know. Write articles with 300-500 words that could pique the attention of people who have interest in your product. Try writing articles that will provide tips and guides to readers; writing articles that provide good service and knowledge to other people would provide the necessary mileage your traffic flow needs. When people find interest in your articles they have a good chance of following the track by finding out where the article originated in the Resource Box. Include a link or a brief description with the article and there’s a great probability that readers will go to your site. A resource box look like this example:

Many sites offer free submission and posting of your articles. The best of most are FREE except few ones charge a fee. Because it is free, you don’t need to speed a single cent, it may take time, to say honestly, I’m not going to beat around the bush with you. You get better chances by paying for your article submission, but at least you get a fighting chance with some of these free directories, so if you decide to submit to a paid directory ensure that it is worthwhile, i.e. check the page rank of the site and the page that your site is likely to be featured on). - EZINE ADVERTISING
Ezine advertising is a quick way to get traffic. What is ezine? It’s exactly like a newsletter, or magazine, only instead of mailing via postal, it’s sent to your email inbox. Some ezines post their issues on a website, and then notify you when it’s ready. Once you have an article written submit it to article directories as many as possible. Commit yourself doing this at least once a week and you will see a gradual increase in downlines; and increase in visitors to your website (if you have one). Beware that your article should be around 300-500 words and informative rather than blatantly advertise anything, at the end of the article add an Author Resource Box plus an invitation to join (e.g. Hits4Pay). Search engine submission is a missing option for many promoters, you have to submit at least every month to get your site listed and search engines like Yahoo, are extremely difficult to get listed on but they definitely play an important role. - Free classified Ads
My opinion is that this probably isn’t a good option if you want a lot of hits really fast. You will get some traffic from free classifieds, but it won’t be anything to write about. Focus on Yahoo classifieds and if you have time, do the rest. Yahoo Classifieds, Free Classified Ads, Free Classified Ad Sites – lists over 1800 sites, Grandfather Of All Link Sites – lists over 10,000 sites. Some GPT programs provide members classified ads e.g. Hits4Pay, you can use the content or create at your own to fill classified Ads. - Join Opt-In email Lists
A possible way to recruit referrals is in an opt-in email discussion group. Similar to discussion forum you can find these opt-in lists for all sorts of different topics, including Get Paid to Read Emails PTR programs, PTS, business opportunities etc. However you aware most members who subscribes simply want to send out his offers, ensure you use a separate free email address to avoid flood up your private email. And, ensure you read the rules which vary from different moderators, as not all allow you to send out your URL. Examples are YahooGroups and Topica.
- Pay Per Click PPC Advertising
When you search in Google you will see sponsored links at the right hand side. If you click on the ad the advertiser has to pay Google for that click. Most PPC are paid advertising, but one FREE to join I discovered recently is Leadsleap, your PPC ads will be displayed at Leadsleap website, blog & weekly emails send out by Leadsleap. - Build Your own Website
Website or Blog (like this one), is the KEY Form to me. It gives you credibility, a place to promote and manage your articles, a chance to collect email address for a mailing list. Plus, a great place to put all of your referral links. If you do not have a website, you can obtain a free at Blogger or weedy. If you really want to take the next level you could get your own website hosting (like this one). The minimum fee is a domain annual fee and a hosting monthly fee. Among all I endorse GoDaddy for a domain name about $10/year and HostGator about $9.95 per month hosting fee including unlimited websites host. You will absolutely earn to well cover the hosting fee $9.95 per month if you follow my tutorials to earn extra cash with GPT programs here, for sure!
- SHOW YOUR CHECKS
Don’t think that GPT will sell itself. Include your checks in the promotions that you do, so that someone can see actual proof. If you make a web page, include a picture of a scanned check on it. If you talk to friends and family and especially strangers, carry a real check or a color photocopied in your wallet to show them. Nothing will break through their skepticism like a real live check! If you don’t have a website or blog, some GPT programs forum allow members to post their payment, be sure to read the rule first. However bewares fake screen-shot payment proof as it is easily duplicated, I believe actual payment into my account than a screen-shot check, I believe people follow my tips and tutorial to real earning rather than show a screen-shot. - There are other methods of free advertising out there, as well as, many forms paid advertising. But these are some FREE methods that I use and endorse. Once you getting things familiar, you’ll have the knowledge to explore other options.
In my conclusion, it is very easy to become overwhelmed when you start a new program, especially if you are new to internet marketing or if you are trying to promote multiple programs at the same time. To success – what you need is an action plan and commits yourself to working your way through this list. If there is something in the list that you don’t want to do right now just go on the next one. You can always come back to the action you missed in the future.
